When ARL Services came into being 11 years ago, Antoinette had no idea it would be such a success.
Of course, she started small. With a dedicated team of three cleaners, a supervisor and one vehicle, she began her journey. At the very beginning, they distributed pamphlets advertising their services in the various neighbourhoods of Paarl. From there they decided to advertise in the Paarl Post, which they believe is one of the best decisions they ever made. It yielded excellent results and they still use this publication today.
So, despite the slow start, business soon snowballed and Antoinette and her team were able to upgrade and buy a second vehicle. By concentrating on diligence and excellent customer service, they managed to increase their client base significantly simply on the basis of word-of-mouth.
As the business expanded, so did the team. From a humble staff of four to a large team of 13, this showed they were on the right track.
Currently, ARL Services visits 100-105 homes per week. They have a fleet of four vehicles, four permanent supervisors and 17 cleaners. They also employ three additional cleaners on an ad hoc basis.
Some of their clients have been with them for a decade: a testament to their level of dedication, customer service, diligence and reliability.
Making sure their staff are happy is one of the keys to ARL Services’ success. They ensure their personnel have uniforms to protect their own clothing and to show comradeship. They also all enjoy a daily lunch of sandwiches and coffee or a cool drink.
So how do they provide such excellent service? They divide their staff into a trio of talented, friendly, cleaning machines! Each member is vetted and can follow instructions to the T!
